Monday Night Raw - Video 2

WWF Raw is a professional wrestling video game based on the television show of the same name produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), released for the SNES, 32X, Mega Drive/Genesis, and Game Boy in late 1994 and early 1995 by Acclaim Entertainment. It is the sequel to the WWF Royal Rumble game that was released in 1993, and is the final part of LJN's 16-bit WWF trilogy. Players can play either One-on-One, Tag Team, Bedlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or a Raw Endurance Match. Unlike its predecessor, WWF RAW is multitap compatible.[2]

On September 4, 1995, the WWF's chief competitor World Championship Wrestling began airing its new wrestling show, Monday Nitro, live each week on TNT, which marked the start of the Monday Night Wars.[12] Raw and Nitro went head-to-head for the first time on September 11, 1995. At the start of the ratings war in 1995 through to mid-1996, Raw and Nitro exchanged victories over each other in a closely contested rivalry. Beginning in mid-1996, however, due to the nWo angle, Nitro started a ratings win-streak that lasted for 84 consecutive weeks, ending on April 13, 1998.[12] On February 3, 1997, Raw went to a two-hour format,[12] to compete with the extra hour on Nitro (which had been expanded to two hours in the summer of 1996), and by March 10, it was renamed to Raw Is War. It was also during the time Raw would be aired live more often. After WrestleMania XIV in March 1998, the WWF regained the lead in the Monday Night Wars with its new "WWF Attitude" brand. The April 13, 1998 episode of Raw Is War, which was headlined by a match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon, marked the first time that WCW had lost the head-to-head Monday night ratings battle in the 84 weeks since 1996.[13]

On January 4, 1999, Mick Foley, who had wrestled for WCW during the early 1990s as Cactus Jack, won the WWF Championship as Mankind on Raw Is War. On orders from Eric Bischoff, Nitro announcer Tony Schiavone gave away this previously taped result on a live Nitro and then sarcastically added, "That's gonna put some butts in the seats", consequently resulting in over 600,000 viewers switching channels to Raw Is War to see the underdog capture the WWF Championship. This was also the night that Nitro aired a WCW World Heavyweight Championship match in which Kevin Nash laid down for Hollywood Hogan after Hogan poked him in the chest.

Raw's original set featured red, white, and blue ring-ropes, a blue ring-apron, blue steps, and a small stage made of neon light tubes. Since March 10, 1997, broadcasts of Raw were split into two hours and given hourly names for television ratings purposes, with the first hour being referred to as Raw Is War and the second as War Zone in television listings, and by the show's on-screen graphics beginning with the June 9, 1997 episode. War Zone opened with simply the Raw intro repeated, punctuated with the War Zone logo, until the November 24, 1997 broadcast when it finally debuted its own distinct opening video, albeit simply a remixed Raw opening video. In 1995, the entrance way was changed to feature "Raw" in giant letters.

In 1997, WWF changed to red ring-ropes for Raw as well as Raw Is War being written along the ring due to their rivalry with WCW. They also updated the stage to feature a 70 foot tall large screen video wall known as the "TitanTron", which consisted a projection screen with several metal stage trusses and a video projector. The set also initially featured curtains on each side with truss beams and lighting later bearing the "WWF Attitude" banner on the sides. By 1999, the WWF added the "WWF.com: 'Download This!'" logo on the bottom of the TitanTron and added two vertical sides on the stage.

On the September 14, 2015 season premiere of Raw, the middle rope was colored gold. Throughout the month of October 2015, the program partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with various stage elements being made pink.[36] On the November 16, 2015, episode of Raw, WWE had a moment of silence for the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris, France, on November 13, 2015.[37] Another moment of silence was held months later in June for the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting.

On September 24, 2012, Hulu signed a multi-year deal with WWE to stream all of the company's TV shows and some of its web series which includes Raw. Episodes of Raw are available for viewing the following day as a condensed 90-minute version is available, not the full version as shown the previous night on the USA Network.[76]

Charlotte was out next on RAW and was furious when Nikki A.S.H. cashed in her Money in the Bank contract, the third time someone cashed in on Flair. She said that Nikki was a martyr and Charlotte would end her career tonight. Nikki attacked Charlotte with a steel chair before she could finish her thought and Flair retreated from the ring.

Miz TV was back on RAW and Damian Priest was the guest tonight. Miz & Morrison called Priest a cheater for beating up Sheamus last week. Damian said at least Sheamus fought through an injury unlike Miz, whose injury was questionable.

We got a big announcement for SummerSlam with Lashley accepting Goldberg's challenge while we got a huge no-holds barred match as the main event on RAW tonight. Riddle took a tough loss while Keith Lee got his revenge on Kross.

Note: WWE.com has established itself as the most popular web site in the world for male teens, and is among the top 20 entertainment sites on the web. Over the first six months of 2005, WWE.com saw its monthly unique visitors increase by 36 percent, and is now close to 10 million unique visitors each month. The site currently serves approximately 26 million video streams per month

Monday Night Raw is live tonight from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be the home base for Raw and Smackdown from August to December of 2020. It was also the primary venue used during Wrestlemania Weekend for 2017 after Wrestlemania itself took place in Camping World Stadium right by it. It was also the host building for the 2016 Royal Rumble where Triple H won the titular match and his final WWE Championship along with it. As the Royal Rumble saw Roman Reigns defend the title. It also featured the debut of AJ Styles.

I've been writing about video games professionally for 12 years, and I've been at Forbes for 9. I'm here for review and commentary on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch games, and I'm a bit obsessed with Pokemon GO and Destiny 2. In my spare time I do consulting, and I've been getting worse at the banjo for easily 8 years now.

I cover sports and video games like Madden, MLB The Show, Undisputed, EA UFC, Dragon Ball Z, Call of Duty and more. You can also find me previewing/recapping MMA and Boxing events with the Perfect 10 prediction-results formula.

Knight attempted to fight his way out before Taker passed Knight to Wyatt, who laid out his opponent with the Sister Abigail. Taker then walked up to Wyatt, said something in his ear and made his way to the back on his motorcycle.

As many may know, I'm a big wrestling fan and have been for over 30 years. Every Monday night I make sure I catch WWE Monday Night Raw and this Monday was no exception. John Cena got his nose broken this past Monday night July 27.

John Cena defended his U.S. title against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and Rollins accidentally broke Cena's nose during the match. To those who are saying, "Nonsense, wrestling is fake!", I say to you sure it is scripted, but accidents do happen. The unfortunate accident occurs at the 1:05 mark in the video below. Rollins gives a knee to the face of Cena and afterwards you can see just how messed up Cena's nose is. Gotta hand it to Cena. I'm not a big fan of him as a wrestler but I have nothing but mad respect for the guy for all the charity work he does for kids and the Make A Wish Foundation. Not to mention that the guy got his nose broken and still finished the match. The guy is one tough SOB! Kids...don't try this at home.
